
The magical scenery of Puzzlewood has made it a popular location for filming and to date we have played host to a number of exciting television dramas and factual programmes.

Puzzlewood is very pleased to announce that Bryan Singer has filmed at Puzzlewood for his new movie, Jack the Giant Killer. This is the first time these ancient woodlands and scowles have been used for an international film which is scheduled for release in June 2012.
Jack the Giant Killer, is a modern day adaptation of the classic children’s fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk’. It follows a young farmer, Jack, played by Nicholas Hoult, who's given the chance to lead a dangerous expedition to save a princess. The princess, played by Eleanor Tomlinson, was kidnapped and the peace between man and giant is threatened.
Other stars on set here at Puzzlewood included Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Eddie Marson, Simon Lowe, Ewen Bremmer and Mingus Johnston.

The Channel 4 programme the Secret Supper Club dined at Puzzlewood on a cold October evening. A host of local producers showcased their brilliant produce in a programme hi-lighting how much the area has to offer. A Hog Roast formed the centre piece of a delicious supper that was cooked in the Puzzlewood itself.

Merlin Series 3 was shown on BBC1 during Autumn 2010. Puzzlewood made spectacular appearances in at least five episodes.
The filming was done while Puzzlewood was open to the public, so some lucky visitors were able to see Merlin (Colin Morgan), Arthur (Bradley James) plus special guest stars in action. Series 4 has been commissioned, and hopefully Puzzlewood will put in another appearance.
EPISODE 1: The first episode of the new series aired on BBC1 on 11th Sept. Puzzlewood was a fantastic backdrop for some exciting scenes. Where do those giant Scorpians live? It was also great to see the dragon dropping in to Puzzlewood.
EPISODE 5. Watch The Crystal Cave. Episode 5 shows Arthur and Merlin escaping from bandits into the Valley of the Fallen Kings (Puzzlewood), some excellent views of the gulleys with very impressive statues! Merlin and Taliesin (Karl Johnson) find the Crystal cave...
EPISODE 8. Watch The Eye of the Phoenix. Episode 8 has Merlin, Arthur and Gwaine crossing one of the Puzzlewood bridges into the Perilous lands. The bridge is protected by the gate keeper Grettir played by Warwick Davies.
EPISODE 12. Watch The Coming of Arthur, Part 1. Episode 12 sees Arthur, Merlin and Gwaine pass through Puzzlewood on their quest to find "The cup of Life" and take it back to Camelot for safekeeping.
EPISODE 13. Watch The Coming of Arthur, Part 2 Episode 13 Arthur, Merlin and Gauis hiding in Puzzlewood. As they try to escape from Morganas undead army they are saved by a timely rockfall in one of the Puzzlewood gulleys!
The cast and crew of Merlin returned to Puzzlewood in July and again in August, to film more scenes for the 3rd series. Merlin (series 3) will be shown on BBC1 in the autumn 2010. Puzzlewood looks fantastic as the 'oxygen factory' of the space ship Byzantium. These scenes were filmed in Puzzlewood during nine rainy nights in July '09.
